On the BMWUSA "Standard and Optional Equipment" page for the M5, there's a statement that the car has "safe stop rim design". It's in the first bullet under "Exterior" along with descriptions of the wheels and tires.

So, what's a "safe stop rim design"???

shown in Owner's Manual. Description is "Extended hump on the 2 rim shoulders".
