2000 M5's in the mid to high $40k's? I think that's being overly optimistic about falling values. Most M5's are still in the high $50k's to low $60k's. In a year's time, I don't think they'll drop $10k or more. What's more, M5 production is slated to halt by the end of this year for the new E60 series design. That, in my opinion, will keep M5 values up.

Here's my suggestion. Sell the 'Vette and Q45, get a nice 2001 M5 (costs more but has upgrades over the 2000) and get an older E30 4dr series BMW (or a Honda Accord or Toyota Camry, both super reliable). High performance with 4drs and a decent backup/beater.
