The Jag doesn't have a Ford engine, it was developed entirely by Jag (owned by Ford, but that is like saying the Aston Martin engines are Fords as well). The Lincoln was based on the Jag -- out long before the LS, not the other way around.

I guess the BMW is based on the Range Rover? Same engine.
