right next to each other. Your list is actually longer than mine, but includes all of my points. I would be interested in the tire choice too, becuase when I bought my 540, the car came with Dunlops or Conti's. I told them that I wanted Dunlops and I got them, but I have already heard that with M5 there is no choice in the matter, (don't believe it).
BTW my dealer has said that E39M5 would be availalbe through the next calendar year...so as usual the dealers are so far apart...Wish BMW would get communication down in this way.


yup. factory communication leave something to be desired - the dealers hear joke about being kept in the dark by the factory...

re. tires - did they mean they only build with Dunlops or they don't let you dictate w/M5s? I've seen Pilot Sports on them - at least in Magazines, if not in real life...can't remember (the ones at the dealer have Dunlops).

I have contis on my '02 530i sport, they seem ok but I hear they suck in the wet (it's only rained less than 3" here in San Diego since I got my 530i last fall (about 7" less than normal) so I haven't had much chance to check in the wet. Pilot sports seem good wet and dry...
