I have one crossing the Atlantic right now, just curious if I should be thinking of installing a bra?
I've found the non metallic colors are more prone to chipping, at least in my experience.
trap dirt which scratches and fades the paint eventually. The clear plastic (3M material) is another alternative. I had this on a previous car and didn't like the look. There were also some problems with yellowing. Additionally, if not applied in near antiseptic conditions, it will trap dirt underneath which doesn't look so great. Of course, you can avoid many rock chips by not traveling so close to vehicles in front. Easier said than done. I have a few chips I need to touch up. Some say the modern BMW's are more prone to chipping due to the water-based paint used. I don't really know.
