i have trouble sleeping because I am about to purchase an 2002 M5, but I came across a 1996 911 Twin Turbo, Speed Yellow with all options for the same price as the M5 (72,000) What to do?? Follow my heart and get the 911 TT, remember when you were a teenager and just like every other kids on your block, everyone's dream cars was either a McLaren or a 911 TT, sh*t almost every kid has a picture of a 911 TT. Or do I follow my head and get the M5 for more space, luxury, and comfort??? go hell and back in 3.7sec. or ride like an executive. What to do???

I had a 96 Turbo and now own a 2001 M5. They are both great cars, it just depends what you are after. The 993 T is perhaps the greatest everyday super car and is the better to drive from an out and out fun point of view it is also very comfortable long distance car. If you need space go M5 (it will also be a lot cheaper to run) otherwise go 993.

i've driven just about all luxury cars in the US market and abroad.

i'd get a TVR tuscan if i had it my way. i've owned a 2000 and a 2001 M5 and a 2001 M3, and i know a LOT of friends with porsches. they're fast cars and handle great. but for the money you can get a vette and modify it and get a faster cheaper car than a 911 turbo, but i hate domestic cars, they're too scary at high speeds (at about 80MPH) compared to say a bmw or a mercedes. but don't forget this,
the MAIN reason for not buying a 911 carrera two years ago and getting a M5 was because the porsche lacked in the luxury and build quality department BIG TIME. they're perfect brand new, but go and have a look around and see how they age. it's a real turndown.

i think most people here would agree with me. porsche has yet to perfect the built quality of it's interior.

Cheaper or faster is not the answer. Do not forget about balance. That's what porsche has. Porsche is built wery well. Porsche interior design sux, I agree, but functionality is NOT.
