Although very different from the type R, my conclusions are very relevant because what you are really talking about is a STYLE behind the sheetmetal. Net Net, the 400HP I have in my current supercharged XJR is a great car but nothing in comparison because they are built with completely different visions. The AutoCar article even STATES this as justification for the automatic only configuration. The Jags, ALL current Jags, are built for comfort first, performance second. Anyone that doubts this only has to drive them with a clear mind. Jag's are not as nimble or as quick to respond as BMW's in similar classes. Both awesome, just different. The car I am driving is a 1999 BRG on Oatmeal XJR with 16k miles and is now 4 sale per my father, (guess he agrees with me finally !).
