New to the board very informative. I'm from outside of Philadelphia. I'm 25 and wanted an "up-scale" car. I put in an order for an M5 from my dealer about 3 months ago, and I'm due to pick it up next Saturday. I've racked my brain and the only car in the same class for me at least was the CLK 55 AMG. My buddy has it, and I've seen a bunch on the road...I haven't seen many M5's, though.
I've never read anything negative about the M5, but I wanted to make one last check with you guys before I "take the plunge."
One last thing, this is a good one,...I've never driven a manual before...I'm gonna rent a honda or something and drive that around for a few days, before driving the M5.

Again, any input would be helpful, and again, great board.


Actually the closest "competitor" in this class would be the merc e55 amg. Check out either this month's or last month's motortrend for a head to head comparison and then pick up your car with a big smile.
