I just bought the 2002 M3 SMG new from a south florida dealership and the engine blew. I brought the car back to the dealership and was shocked to find out there were already 2 other SMG's brought back to the dealership with blown engines. Apparently they said there could be a software problem with the car where it revs or RPM's too high and has a potential to blow the motor. I have read other articles where people have the transmission replaced at only 10,000 miles. I dont know what to think. It sounds like the smg option could be a lemon. I never heard of this on the clutch version. Has anyone else had or heard of SMG's blowing up? Is this new car a lemon??
