The torque converter/auto tranny will not handle the increased loads the 400hp will place upon them. BMW has never offered an auto tranny on anything above 320 hp..(750i) Even the 380hp 850CSi was not available with an autobox...Also, the lost power needed/lost to drive the torque converter would negatively affect your performance.
Why not just buy a 540iA?
