Advice on Z3 replacement tires (archive)

Have a 96 Z3 with original Michelin's. At 38K miles, they are due to be replaced. Do you have any recomendations that might challenge a repurchase of the Michelins?
Note: I just use the car in good weather and don't drive real crazy.
