O.Z. Nova tire size (archive)

I just ordered a set of 17x8 O.Z. Novas for my '93 325i from the Tire Rack. When I logged onto the website, the wheel/tire package it came up with had 235/40ZR17's, but the
salesman calculated that I need to use 215's with this wheel.

Does anyone out there know if this sizing (215) is a bit conservative? I'd like to be able to have 225's on there (as with my stock 15-inchers).
