17x8.5s from E34 --> Z3 2.8? (archive)

I have a set of 17x8.5" Mille Miglia 11s rims fitted with 235/45-17s on my 525iT (E34) (purchased through TireRack). Look/fit are great. BTW, the tires are Pirelli P7000 Supersports and I love them... superb in wet, great in the dry.

My question is, will those same tires/rims fit ok on my 2000 Z3 Roadster (2.8)? I'm interested in testing how much the ride/handling will be affected by that tire/rim setup.
