the 17's look better, and work awesome on E36 chassis cars. Plus in the 17 inch sizes you have much better tire choices too, and you have a few good size options as well. As for the price....well the smaller the wheel(or tire) usually the less expensive so the 16's will probably be less, but not by all that much (maybe $100.00-200.00 on the whole package).
