Need E39 recommendation.... Tirerack guys? (archive)

I have a 1999 528i w/Sport package & am about ready for some new tires -- 235/45-17. I have (OEM) Conti SportTrac's on the car now. They are a bit noisy, but other than that I like the tires. I want a quiet tire with good treadwear. I live in South Texas -- usually hot, occasional rain -- never snow/ice. I have been contemplating the Dunlop SP5000, Pirelli P7000SS and Michelin XGT Z4. What is you opinion on these -- and is there anything else I should consider? I'm not stuck on an all-season tire, but want a reasonable tread life.
