What sizes can I go to on stock MCoupe rims? (archive)

I'm in the market for new tires on my stock rims.
I DO NOT want to rub anywhere, but want better rim coverage and more stick. I also don't want to roll the lip.

Will 235/45 and 255/40's fit? I've heard conflicting stories about the fronts.

Suggestions?
