There is a similar discussion on the Audiworld.com forum, where it is more of a gerneral exchange of reader info that a Q&A forum like here, so I provided a link for you to read what others have said as well.

ANY wheel will bend with the correct ammount of stress upon it. I would not say that any wheel we carry by mfr. has a higher incident of bending than any other I see. While it is unusual to have all 4 bend on you to some degree, I have seen that happen before, depending upon size, your driving habits, road conditions, and your tire pressure settings.

Going to a 245 in the rear will not give you more sidewall height to absorb bumps, just a wider traction contact area. Hopefully this will help.

As always, contact me if I can help!

: : I have a '99 Z3 2.8, and I chose 225/45zR17s all around when I upgraded to the MM Spiders. Now I'm wondering if I just suck it up and buy 245/40zR17s for the rear so I can have more tire soaking up bumps, or should I just throw in the towel now and go back to the original factory size wheel/tire combo?

: Have you (at Tire Rack) noticed a higher-than-average problem rate with Mille Miglia Spiders? I am definitely not happy with ones I've bought through you guys in terms of their long term survivability.

: Are these wheels intended for sportier cars or not?

: Would I have better success avoiding bent rims going with 16" wheels and tires (225-50zR16) versus 17" +1 wheels and tires (235-45zR17)

: As a tire rack customer, I'm not happy at all.
