Depending upon what size AND offset your wheels are, there is typically enough clearance to allow a 235/40 up front, however the rear 255s typically will require modifications (i.e. fender lip roll, adding negative camber, etc.) in order to work.

You might try to serach your boards archives to get feedback from others that might have tried it, and what, if anything was neededto make it work.

: it's getting time to replace my tires. i have h&r springs and bilstein shocks in my 2.8 coupe and need to know if 235/40x17 tires will fit on the front and 255/40x17 for the rears. since i run both autocrosses and drivers schools i want to be sure that i'll have clearance.
