Just a couple of general tire questions:

1) Do widths of the same size tires vary from one manufacturer to another? I noticed that my g-Force KDs are noticeably wider than the Dunlop 8080Es were (in the same size). Is this typical and, if so, which brands usually oversize their tires?

2) Do treadware ratings vary between brands also or is there a "universal" rating? (i.e. is a 180 Michelin the same as a 180 Bridgestone?)
