: Would it be safer to ship a set of wheels with tires mounted on them even though the tires are throw-aways? Or would it be safer to have the tires dismounted and disposed of first? By "safer" I mean less chance of the wheels being damaged in shipment.

: If it's safer to ship just the wheels, does anyone know where I can get some boxes that will hold 17x8.5 wheels?

: Thanks!

I just shipped 4 OEM 16 X 7 alloys with tires from San Diego to NJ. The purchaser reported that they arrived in perfect condition. I bubble wrapped the tires inside a extra heavy poly bag and duck taped same. Cost for shipment was $24 per tire/wheel via UPS. Six day shipment time. Hope this helps.
