Hey guys,

I had a question about tires. My 2000 328i has the sport package (225/45-17) and came with Contisport contacts. I have about 10000 miles on them (some autocross time). I recently drove my friend's 323ci w/ sport package and the same tire sizes, but it had Bridgestone Turanza ER30s with about 3500 miles on them. First of all, his car was noticeably smoother and quieter. It absorbed broken pavement much better than mine. It just wasn't as harsh and jittery and the tires didn't transmit as much road noise and rumble.

My question is....is this mainly attributable to the tires? Since the Turanza's are an OEM tire, I was wondering where they fall in Bridgestone's line? I know that Turanza's are high performance touring tires, but are one of Potenzas really the more comparable tire to Contisports? I'm just basing this on the ride of both tires and where they stand in each manufacturer's product line (the
Contisports being their top of the line tire).

Second, I have a bout 10500 miles on my tires and have never had them rotated, I have autocrossed my car twice and will do it again. Should I rotate them? (the depth in front is not yet noticeably less then the rear, but the scuffing on the tread is more than the rears)

Finally, I'm basically hoping that my tires wear out very soon (I'm guessing I'll be ready by 20000 miles or so, which would put me at the end of this year or so). Based on current products out there and prices, I think I've narrowed it down to either the Dunlop 9000s or Bridgestone Pole Positions. Can you give me any feedback on how these tires compare to my Continentals in dry and wet handling as well as noise and comfort? Feedback on the Pilot Sports and Pirelly P Zero Rossas would be great, but unless they are profoundly better than the Dunlops or Bridgestones, I don't see myself spending the extra 30-40 bucks a tire
on them.

Sorry this is so long, thanks for all your help guys and please feel free to be open and honest on your opinions.

Vu
