Rgds,

: : on a used '95 740I that I am considering buying and thanks in advance for any help...
: : The car seems to be ok (haven't driven it yet but engine did exhibit a distinct lifter-like noise audible when standing outside the car with hood closed...is this normal?) with all the functions and interior/exterior is spotless.
: : However the rims are 18" BBS RC types (I didn't get the exact rim width but I'd bet they are 8" & 10" respectively) and the front tires are 245/45 ZR18 while the rears are 285/40 ZR18 Pirelli PZeros. Now I looked at the tire's sidewall but didn't notice any sidewall rubbing...could be hidden by Armour All?
: : Question is, is there any concern on this tire size with fender clearance? Especially under "loaded" conditions?
: : Another question is, can I safely mount narrower tires in the back's 18"x10" rims and yet maintain the correct rolling diameter? 285/40 18 tires aren't exactly cheap here in Hong Kong...
: : Thanks again for any input! =)

: A 255/45R18 is the largest rear tire we recommend for the car without modifications. If there is a 285 on the car somebody must have done something to the fenders.
