I run 245/40-17 in front and 275/40-17 in rear. This setup comes highly recommended by Mark Sipe, one of the fastest drivers in the country.
I use 5 mm spacers in front (1/4"), and get no rubbing. You'll need longer lug bolts, too. Mark prefers the wider track. The tires don't stick out much, and I have no rubbing.
I have The G-Force KD's in the same sizes as Gideon, and it increased my understeer a bit, too.
: Hoosier slicks on.
: He had 275/40R17's on the rear, he said he had NO rubbng (this guy also owns a shop and works on race BMW's, and I trust his judgement). The 275's stick ou only a fraction past the edge of the wheel, but they amazingly fit pretty well. He also has (if you can believe it) 245/40R17's on the front. These look ridiculous, they stick out so far it's crazy. He also says that under HARD driving he does get some rubbing, but keep in mind that these tires have no tread on them.
: My personal opinion on stock wheels is to go 235/45R17 on the front, and 255/40R17 on the rear. I am running BFG Gforce KD in 225/45 and 255/40 and the car understeers a bit.
: : Hi there guys,
: : I am planning on getting either Yokohama A032 R or Kumho V700.
: : I need the tires for Autocross and am going to use them on my stock wheels. 17X7.5 F, and 17X9 R. I guess that you have the info that you need.
: : I have Koni shocks and H&R springs installed and wanted to know what sizes will fit the stock rims without rubbing..
: : I have heared that these tires are a little bit bigger than the others..
: : Let me know what sizes I should order.
: : I am looking to get them before the memorial day weekend for a race.
: : Thanks a lot
