When you decrease the sidewall to a certain extent your making the foot print of the tire shorter. Less tire on pavement at on given time = more tire wear.

Second, when you increase the weight of the wheels significantly your making the suspension workin harder.

So you will get horrible acceleration and HANDLING. Because your suspension has a much harder time keeping your wheels on the pavement. The less controlled bumps are going to be and the more travel the wheel will make when hitting a bump.
