I would say that the SSR Integral is a popular pick (as seen on my 323i), esp. for the strength & design.

The Borbet Type E & T wheels are a good selection also (some customer pics on my home page link below), and a nice bang for the buck.

The Breyton Magics have been a REALLY popular wheel a well. I can think of 7 custoimers I have lkined up with them also. Looks AWESOME on the car. The bottom line is the lines on the E46 make just about any of them look good. Call me if you want a suggestion or to discuss further!
