: At the top of their various lines, are tires from the top tier mfgrs (ie Michelin, Bridgstone, Pirelli) better than their assumed equivalents from the second tier (as far as brand recognition goes) mfgrs (ie Sumitomo, Kuhmo, Nitto, Falken, etc). Some of the latter offer some interesting tires, and the prices look good. The new Kuhmo tire rack has been pushing in their print ads come to mind. But when compared to some the more legendary first tier tires (S02PP, Pilot sport), are they comparable?
