Just put 235-40x17 in place of Michelin 17"MXX-3's yesterday on my 1997 3er. The new tires are significantly quieter but not as responsive to steering input.
I was looking for better wear than the MXX-3's which the RE730's ought to deliver.
Since you are going from 15" tires I think you'll be happy with the Bridgestones.
