: : Tire shop dude here in Phoenix told me that usually that is the case with large, fat wheels and tires. I have a similar problem on my car. Apparently the wheels will balance well on the wheel balancer but for whatever reason will exhibit some out of balance properties on the car. Usually noticable at those speeds. He said that the tape on weights are not quite as effective because they are not toward the outside of the wheels. I'm not convinced that is the reason, but i don't think the tape weights work as well. Anybody else have ideas?
: : : I purchased a set (thru Tire Rack) of17x8 Mille Miglia mm2-5 spoke rims and Yoko A520 Tires for my '97 1.9 Z3. They came balanced and mounted for simple bolt on. I have had a slight shimmy in the steering wheel between 40-50mph, and when braking. The brake rotors are new, so I know thats not the reason (and there is no pulsing in the brake pedal). I have put about 2000 miles on them, and just had them re-balanced at a Goodyear center. It seems that the problem is a little WORSE now. What Gives???
: Yes I have the tape on weights. Thats how they came from TR. I am in Phoenix (Chandler actually). Would love more feedback on the subject.
