will 235 width fit on a 17x8 wheel? (more) (archive)

I have a BMW 323i with sytle 44 17x8 seven spoke wheels. I'm running 225/45's right now, but I'm wondering if I can go a little wider with 235's, either 45 or 40. Is this possible without any side effects?
