I heard that using wheel spacers will cause steering wheel vibrations at moderate speeds.
So if you are thinking about driving the car at autocrosses or driving schools I would suggest you not put them on.

: Hi Folks,
: Just bought a BMW540i 6spd (e34).
: I want to used a set of new e39
: wheels on this vehicle, but to do so
: requires the use of a hub diam adapter (thanks
: to the folks at Tire Rack for supplying them)
: plus a 5mm spacer to correct for offset differences.

: Someone told me this was an absolute no-no for
: a car that would be driven on a race track for
: "driver school" events.

: Can anyone confirm/deny this opinion?

: Wheels: 8"x17" front and 9"x17" rear
: to replace 7"x15"s all around.
: Thanks

: John Feng
