Tire Rack = Bridgestone (archive)

I seem to notice a definite preference toward Bridgestone tires on the part of the Tire Rack crew. Now I don't discount the possibility that they may simply like the Bridgestone products better, but the cynical side of me has questions.

What is the relationship between Bridgestone and Tire rack? Back when I was selling electronics we would push the products the store got the best margins on (which made them the products with the highest commissions to the salespeople). Given the somewhat overwhelming predisposition toward Bridgestone, I tend to wonder if that is what is going on here.
