looks, the difference depends. You could get one manufacturer's 225 that looks wider than another's 235. those numbers are very subject to interpretation by the manufacturers.

in theory, the 235/40 would be a hair shorter than stock and the 225/45s would be a hair taller. I went with 235s to try to offset the added weight of the 17"ers I put on the car.
