Will 235/45/17 tires fit on a 17x8 wheel? (more) (archive)

I have 17x8 wheels on my car running 225/45/17's. I'm wondering if I can step up to 235's. Also, what is the widest I can go with my 17x8 wheels? Will going wider create a harsher ride?
