I recently upgraded the tires and wheels on my 528iA. I got the 7-spoke, 2-piece wheels that came on the original 540i Sport, with Bridgestone RE730s. The wheels look great, and the tires are awesome, particularly compared to the stock Contis that came with my car. The improvement in performance has been substantial. Look at the link below to see examples of the seven-spokes. The first black car on the top has these wheels, as do a couple of silver cars further down the page. Good luck with your decision.http://www.geocities.com/jimmy540i/e39family.htm
: I currently have 16" cyclone wheels that came standard on the 540i in '97. This car came with the touring package, not the sport package. I am ordering the Eibach Sport Kit (springs), and would like to go to a 17" or 18" wheel and tire package. I have been speaking to some people and have heard recommendations on the new M5 wheel and how strong it is. Not really sold on a 540 wearing an M wheel, but like the idea of stock, but would also like to be unique as well. Sorry for the wordiness, but would like recommendations, and would like to have the E39 look sporty, but classy. Thanks.
