go with a Turenza, MXV4, etc. (ie, some sort of touring tire). Get 50K wear and all season capability (not sure of that in the Turenza). The ones your talking about are still in the same general performance category, just a bit down market.

BTW, your probably correct that most people don't track their max performance tires (to steal TRs categories). Then again, they're not real track tires either. Real track tires are REALLY not meant for street use.


Because I dont need performance! Its a daily driver! I need something that will last and handle the streets! Im not worried about racing, track times, cornering at 75mph etc. So I dont need a $250+ tire that will last for 10k miles and not be used for what they were designed for at all!

Im willing to bet that 85-90% of the people that buy those type of tires are only buying them for of the name and the hype, rather than what they are designed to be used for!

So what you consider "bassackwards" or being cheap, is more like smart shopping! Im going to buy based upon needs, not name and hype!
