With the same width and side wall height they will handle the same. The only change will be a 1"(25.4mm) taller overall diameter on the 17" tire

A 225/45R17 with the correct overall diameter will have quicker steering response, give better feed back, and be more predictable at the limit. It will ride more harsh.
