E46 M3 Winters... (archive)

Hey everybody,
I need some advice for winter wheels and tires for my (coming) E46 M3. From the factory, it comes with 225/45/18 front and 255/40/18 rear. The brakes are 12.8" f and 12.9" r. I'm wondering if 16's will mount safely over those brakes, and if they do, what tire sizes should i use?
