I have received much conflicting advice about this - what is the optimum wheel width for a specific tire size? My 540i has 235's in front on 8" wide wheels, and 255's in back on 9" wheels. Many people have suggested I go to 8.5" in front and 9.5" in back. What is the impact (pros and cons)of a 1/2 wider wheel? There must be some reason the OEM set up is as it is.
