18 inch wheels and tires w/o lowering the suspensi (archive)

Curious as to the opinion of those who have put 18 inch tire and wheel combinations on their E38 7 series cars w/o lowering them:

Was the resulting aesthetic difference enough to satisfy you? I like the softer ride of the car, but hate allthe empty space in the wheel well...
