Many recent inquires have been posted and raised regarding the fitting of 2000 M5 wheels (245/40ZR18 front, 275/35ZR18rear) on the e28 M5 (original wheel size: 225/50ZR16front, 225/50ZR16) The question has never been raised nor answered on the forum or by a TireRack technician. Please advise and explain the negative effects. I understand the inherent problems with wheels this large on a car never designed to accept wheels of this size and vintage as it effects chassis dynamics and ride quality. I do not own an e28 M5 but your input is is gladly accepted by misinformed e28 owners.

TIA

They will not fit on the E28 without modification and the wheels would not be hub-centric. This would cause vibration and the sizes will be much to wide for the E28. Sorry it has taken so long but we are very busy at this time and we get to the questions as soon as we can. You can always email us direct or pick up the phone and give me a call.
