Tire Rack: Can BBS wheels bend by driving hard? (archive)

I have heard that even good wheels, such as BBS, can become bent by driving over a speed bump, or hitting a rut, real hard. The bend would occur at the flange, and therefore would be unnoticeable by merely looking at the rim.
True or not?
If this is true, and if it would occur, who straightens these wheels?
How much $$ ?
