Hey, my sp9000s are running down to the teeth on my 17s, and I'm going to be getting some new 17" tires today. I notice that on tirerack's wheel machine tirerack recommends a 235/40 R17 size tire as opposed to BMWs recommended 225/45 R17.

Whats the difference and why does tirerack recommend the 235?

the 40series has a smaller sidewall, but is it such a small difference as to not affect ride quality?

what if i went 235/45 ?

hehe, ok thanks for anyhelp with this guys... i think im sticking with sp9000s, i loved em, just unsure of this whole tire size issue.
