You prob are not going to save much if you buy a BMW spare wheel and 2 Conti snows at dealer prices.

My recommendation is to get 4 snows at a discount tire store. Try Discount Tire Direct or Tire Rack. I have Pilot Alpins and they are good in the snow, and excellent on dry winter days. They are H rated and not bad if you need to take a long trip in the winter. They are quiet and comfortable for highways.

Buy cheap 16" or 17" wheels to put the snow tires on. Or, put the snow tires on the stock 17" wheels and use this as an excuse to upgrade to some nice summer wheels.

I would like to put snow tires on the rear on my 330i sedan, the "17 non-sport one with lots of spokes. I would like to do this as cheaply as possible so. My idea was to use the spare wheel as a permanent snow/spare and buy I BMW wheel for the other snow. BMW wants $400 for the wheel and about $200 each for Continental snows...........any suggestions.
