You are not alone - in fact this is a fairly common problem.

I have had my wheels balanced 3 times, and the tracking checked twice - my E39 is only 8 months old!

I am sure there is a design fault where either the suspension or the body oscilates at it's natural frequency. This can be triggered by tyres or even through aerodynamics (60-80mph)

Is the vibration around 25Hz, and is it worse on smooth road?

I am keeping a database of vibration and juddering problems - please email me with your details (year, model, comments).

James.

I recently replaced my TRX tires and wheels with a set of 17 x 8 BBS RX wheels, spacers and Pirelli P7000 Supersport P215/45WR17 tires. Can anyone explain why I get a minor vibration at 45 and 85 mph?
