Rico: I recently went through the same situation with upgrading wheels for my 840. A local bmw tuner convinced me that the 17" was the way to go. He reminded me that we are not driving F1s but rather GT to limited sport autos. Moving up to the 18" results in a very bumpy ride as you'd mentioned in your earlier posting as well as a minimum tire profile producing a limited "roll" when cornering (resulting in what could be termed an "unforgiving" cornering characteristic. In addition, in most cases, the life of the tire would be short lived.

I agree, the larger wheels look great, I'd love a set of 19" on my 840 but would like to maintain some standard of comfort and drivability.
