Before my question, I'd just like to say that I'm both impressed and disappointed!

Having lurked here (in the UK) and having seen the great service provided by the people at tire rack, I want to know why there isn't a similar service over here?

We just get places like Quick Fit and National Tyres where the average age of the reps seems to be about 15, and the product knowledge extends to "Do you want cheap or good tyres?"

Anyway - can you advise me...
I'm getting a BMW 323Ci delivered in Nov, being built in the next few days apparently. So now is my very last chance to change any of the spec. I've ordered one size up wheels (StarSpoke 44s 8J x 17).

I like the look of the 44s, but was also keen to know if the Double Spoke composite wheel Style 71 7.5J x 17 would be
compatible.
I think that the tyre size on the 44s is 225/45 x 17. Can you let me know what the tyre size is on the 71s? and also
what would the relative prices be for the same brand/spec of tyre in each size ($ prices are fine as a quide!).

As my annual mileage is about 22k miles, I want to have the same wheel size front & back to allow me to rotate the tyres about every 7k miles to even out wear. Does this seem about right to you, and assuming that the wheels are all the same size, which should rotate to where?

I want to have the same wheels all year round - Typical annual climate = 5 months rain, 1 month heavy rain, 5 months warm & 1 month snowy. Are these wheel/tire combinations suitable?

Would anyone recommend any other wheel/tyre combos from the BMW catalogue that would fit my profile?

Thanks in advance for any advice you can give!

Paul.

Paul,
All the questions you are asking are better answered by your BMW dealer or your salesman. As far as which factory wheel would fit your car, I don't know what is available OE for wheels. If you want to look at our wheels and tires then we can talk, we know what fits of the wheels we carry. Sorry if I am not much help. Jim
