e39 hubs are 74.1mm, rest of BMWs are 72.6mm. TR part # is A670. like $3/ea. otherwise you'll get the shakes at 80mph.

Thanks in advance Tirerack guys, you're great!

My friend upgraded his 540i Sport and I have an opportunity to have his factory original wheels and tires. The tires are a little worn out so I might need a purchase in the near future. My question is, for those factory 17x8 and 17x9 wheels, do you know if they will fit? From what I know, I'll need to make or purchase some hub centering rings....not a real big problem as I'm a design engineer and my friend is a machinist.

One other question....what's are the recommended tire sizes, front and rear?

The 17X8 should work fine with a 235/45R17 tire. The 17X9 we show may be to wide for the rear without modification to the fenders. The tire size you would need to run would be 245/40R17. I would suggest to try a wheel on and see how much clearance you have. If I can help with the tires let me know. Thank you
