For starters, the 18 are going to be a shorter sidewall so they will be a bit more responsive, especially in quick handling actions. I agree with the first 3 points on your downside list, except for "d" point. You will still be able to use your spare with no problem because the overall diameter will work fine. As long as you get a good high quality wheel, you shouldn't have any major problems, and I couldn't agree with the S-02's more as the best choice.....that's why I use them! If you would like to chat about wheel choice, or price things out, let me know

The downside to 18" wheels seem to include: (a) cost of new wheels; (b) ride quality penalty; (c) increased rim vulnerability to curbs, potholes, etc.; (d) incapatible w/ spare (235/45/17 on 17x8 OEM rim).

What is your assessment?
