I am about ready to change the tires on my Z3 Coupe. it came with 17" wheels option which is 17 x 7.5 (front), 17 x 8.5 (rear) and 225/45R-17 (front), 245/40R-17 (rear) tires.
I heard a lot of good things about S02PP, but it seens that most of its praise is for wet conditions. Since i live in san francisco area and it doesnt rain here that often i am willing to sacrafice some of the wet traction for improved dry traction. Don't get me wrong, i know that S02s are great in dry too, and yes i still do want to be able to drive in the rain, but just looking for another option.
From some of my research it looks that Micheline Sport and Pirelli PZero are also in competition with Bridgestone for my money.

Any advise from peaople that used either of these tires or any other tires. recomendations?

I am also thinking of increasind the tire width, but would like to keep the total diametre the same. Any sugestions on this? what would be the effect?

thanks

steve k.
