on those low profile tires i would keep the pressure near max (written on the tire) so they don't bend the wheels going over pot-holes

You are kidding, right? The sidde wall psi is thge maxium that you can go without destroying the tire. Did you take into consideration like heat from build up at high speeds? that will make the tire go beyond 51psi and blow it up? Guess not.
